Indian Passport to have Lotus Symbol
Symbol of Lotus will be printed on the new Passports of Indian citizens, the Minister of External Affairs said that it is part of the enhanced security features taken by the Ministry are as per the new guidelines introduced by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The Ministry of External Affairs under the Government of India will be using other national symbols as well on rotation in the future for enhanced security features.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson also informed that the Lotus, National Flower of India, is selected for this month, from next month the symbol will be something else, the symbols that are connected with the country such as National Animal of India, the Bengal Tiger.
The International Civil Aviation Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations founded in 1944 with headquarters in Montreal, Canada.
