Indian Oil launches drive to turn plastic to bitumen
 
The Indian Oil had taken several initiatives to support Government drive to eliminate single use plastic. The Corporation announced about the conversion of plastic to bitumen on 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The initiatives are part of Clean India Campaign
The company is set to supply bitumen commercially for road construction. The project was first launched in Faridabad where a bituminous road was laid by the corporation. The performance of these bituminous roads will be monitored by Indian Oil R&D.
About Bitumen
Bitumen is also called Asphalt. It is highly viscous and road construction is its primary use. It is also used to seal flat roofs and in producing water proof products.
