Indian Navy Recruitment 2019: Vacancies for Sailors (Sports Quota)
Indian Navy has issued notification for recruiting unmarried male candidates for the post of sailors under sports quota (01/2019 Batch).

Essential Qualification
Sports Proficiency
Interested candidates should have participated at International / Junior or Senior National Championship / Senior State Championship/ All India Inter University Championship in Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Squash, ,Best Physique, Fencing, Golf, Tennis, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing, Shooting, Sailing & Wind Surfing and Equestrian(Horse Polo)
For Direct Entry Petty Officer:
Team Games: Participation in International /National/State level at junior /senior level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament. Individual Events: Possess a minimum of 6th position in Nationals (seniors) or 3rd position in National (juniors) or 3rd position in the Inter University meets.
Educational Qualification:
10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent
Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 17 years
Maximum Age: 22 years
Date of birth should be between 01 Feb 1997 to 31 Jan 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
For Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR):
Educational Qualification:
10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent
Sports Proficiency:
Participation in International/National/State level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 17 years
Maximum Age: 21 years
Date of birth should be between 01 Apr 1998 to 31 Mar 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Selection Process
- Trials at Naval Centres
- Medical Examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai.
Other Information
Pay & Allowances:
A stipend of Rs 14,600 per month will be given. After successful completion of training, the candidates will be placed in Level 3 of Defence pay matrix.
Medical Standards
- Minimum height 157 cms with proportionate weight and chest
- Free from any disease/ disability
- No Cardiovascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet etc.
Tenure
Initial engagement is for a period of 15 years.
