Indian-American appointed as President, CEO of Bank of the West
Indian-American Nandita Bakshi (57) has been appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank of the West, a subsidiary unit of French banking giant BNP Paribas.
She will succeed Michael Shepherd who has been appointed as chairman of the BNP Paribas USA, a new holding company for all BNP Paribas subsidiaries in the United States.
About Nandita Bakshi
- She has rich experience in banking sector and had previously held several leadership roles at different top Banks in US.
- She also had held several executive positions at Washington Mutual in Seattle (Wash), FleetBoston (now Bank of America), First Data Corp, Home Savings of America and Banc One Corp.
- Nandita Bakshi had earned a bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Calcutta and masters in International Relations and Affairs at Jadavpur University.
- Currently she also serves on the board of the Consumer Bankers Association. She is recipient of a New England News ‘Woman of the Year’ award in 2002.
