India Wins ISSA Good Practice Award 2024

India has recently received the ISSA Good Practice Award for Asia and Pacific 2024, which was presented at the Regional Social Security Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) was recognized for its innovative initiatives and also received five Certificates of Merit for its outstanding contributions.

EPFO developed a comprehensive communication framework, which employs various tools such as webinars, SMS, emails, and social media. The initiative “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” involves district camps to educate members effectively.

E-proceedings

EPFO transitioned its judicial inquiry process to an online platform, which ensures transparency and fairness in handling cases. The digital approach has reduced delays in compliance processes.

Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0

This programme aims to bring EPFO services closer to the public, which is conducted on the 27th of every month. Members, pensioners, and employers can resolve grievances on-site, enhancing convenience.

Multilingual Call Centers

To cater to India’s linguistic diversity, EPFO established call centres in 12 regional languages. This initiative promotes inclusive grievance redressal. It allows members to communicate in their preferred language.

Prayaas Initiative

The Prayaas initiative aims to issue pension payment orders (PPOs) on the retirement day. This timely service enhances the experience for retiring employees. The number of PPOs issued is steadily increasing.
