India to construct sanitation facility at Pashupatinath Temple complex
Under the Nepal-Bharat Maitri: Development Partnership as a high impact community development scheme India is going to construct a ₹2.33 crore sanitation facility at the Pashupatinath Temple complex which is also listed under the UNESCO World Heritage site. to improve the infrastructure.
- An MoU was signed between the Indian Embassy, Nepal’s Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City for the construction of the sanitation facility at the Pashupatinath Temple.
- India has pledged the assistance of ₹2.33 crore for the sanitation facility. this would be implemented by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City in 15 months.
- Pashupatinath Temple complex in Nepal is on both sides of the Bagmati River and it is the largest temple in Nepal and sees thousands of devotees from Nepal and India every day.
This development has come amid the development of sourness in the relations between India and Nepal due to the ongoing disputed map published by the Nepal government
