India-Norway Dialogue on Trade and Investment’s 1st session conducted in New Delhi

On 8th January 2020, during the visit of Prime Minister of Norway in New Delhi, the Terms of Reference (ToR) was signed between India and Norway and based on this Terms of Reference, the first session of India-Norway Dialogue on Trade and Investment was summoned after signing the Dialogue of Trade and Investment, in New Delhi on 15th January 2020.

An industry interaction was held on 15th January with the Indian industry’s representatives where discussions were held on various areas of mutual interest such as blue economy, renewable energy, shipping & maritime, etc before this first session. Cumulative FDI equity inflowed from Norway to India which was around USD 257 million from April 2000 to September 2019.

It was observed by both sides that the dynamic nature of commercial exchange will result in an increasing number of companies for further establishing and gaining access to each other markets, which will result in an increase in bilateral trade between the two countries.
