India signed a deal with France to procure 36 Rafale aircrafts. In the initial phase of the deal with France, 36 Rafale fighters will be bought off the shelf by India and negotiations will continue for manufacturing more in India at a later stage. The aircraft is said to have the ability to track targets, generate real time three-dimensional maps. ‘It also offers features such as ‘look-down detection’ and tracking of multiple air targets for close combat and long-range interception, in all weather conditions.
