India hands over 1 Lakh Academic Textbooks to Madagascar

On behalf of the Government of India, the Indian Embassy in the capital city of East African island country Madagascar, Antananarivo has handed over 100,000 academic textbooks for the development of higher education and research on Tuesday, 14th January 2020. The supply of the books worth Rs 7,677,600 (USD 108,000) has been done in accordance with the announcement made during his visit to Madagascar by the President of India in 2018.

The books handed over to Madagascar’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research by Abhay Kumar (Indian Ambassador) at an event organized at the Ministry headquarters are published by an autonomous organization of Government of India, the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT). For continued support and cooperation, the Minister of Madagascar’s Higher Education expressed her gratitude to the Government of India and informed that the books will be instrumental for the continued development of higher education and research and towards achieving the vision of the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina.
