India elected as non-permanent member of UNSC
India has been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a two-year term from 2021 to 2022. India was a candidate for a non-permanent seat from the Asia-Pacific. Along with India, Ireland, Mexico and Norway also won the UNSC elections. India will be a part of the UNSC along with the permanent members (US, UK, Russia, China and France) and non-permanent members.
