India Design Council launched two initiatives to promote Design Education and Standards

The Indian Design Council(IDC) launched two initiatives in New Delhi on Thursday, 12th December 2019 to address the 5 challenges of scale, quality of design, quality of education for design, design for a public purpose and for raising the priority for design in the industry.
Name of two initiatives: Chartered Design of India (CDI) and the Design Education Quality Mark (DEQM)
The two initiatives launched today will support and aid the profession of design and help in growing the profession and to further establish professional standards.
India has a growing design ecosystem that has resulted in the growth of both the employment of creative skills and impact in the service sector.
The Indian Design Council(IDC) is an autonomous body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. IDC was established in March this year.
