India defeated by Australia in Women’s T20 World Cup Semi Final
ICC is conducting the T20 Women’s World Cup in South Africa. India entered the semi-finals after beating Ireland. It played its semi-finals against Australia. India battled under the captainship of Harmanpreet Kaur. The captain was suffering from a high fever and was doubtful to play the match. Fortunately, she did participate in the match and scored 52 runs.
Australia entered the field to bat and scored 172 runs losing four wickets. The target was a bit tough for the Indian team. The strike rate had to be at least 8.6 to win the match. In 15 overs, India had scored around 135 runs and had lost six wickets. In 19 overs, India’s score was 157/7. At 19.5 overs, India lost another wicket and was at 163/8. And Australia won by 5 runs in the last.
The Australian women’s cricket team is a bit challenging to win. In the last year’s World Cup, India lost the finals to the Australian team.

It is a biennial championship. It was first organized in England in 2009. Australia is the most successful champion in the world T20 world cup. The 2023 Women’s T20 world cup is being held in South Africa. The 2024 Women’s T20 world cup will be held in 2024, in Bangladesh. India participated in the first T20 Women’s world cup that was held in 2009. The team was runner-up in the 2020 championship.
