About Center for World University Rankings (CWUR)
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) was founded in 2012 by Nadim Mahassen, focusing on global university performance. CWUR uses seven objective indicators for its evaluation, including quality of education, alumni employment, and quality of faculty. Unlike other rankings, it assesses over 19,000 universities worldwide and publishes a list of the top 2000. CWUR is headquartered in the UAE. Their methodology also integrates research output and influence, without relying on surveys and university data submissions, intended to provide a more impartial ranking system. The annual results are closely watched and serve as a reference for educational standards globally.

Performance Dynamics
The CWUR report highlighted that despite an increase in India’s research output, this has not substantially lifted the overall success rates in higher education. Among the premier institutes, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras experienced significant drops in their rankings, descending 14 and 12 spots respectively. On the flipside, IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur maintained their positions among the top-ten best-performing Indian institutions.
