ICC suspends West Indies spinner Sunil Narine for illegal bowling action

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine from bowling in international cricket with an immediate effect.
The ICC took a decision after an independent assessment found that his bowling action illegal after the 3rd ODI match of West Indies against Sri Lanka in Pallekele in November 2015.
Test of his bowling action was performed at the ICC’s accredited testing centre in Loughborough University which revealed that all variations of his bowling deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of permitted tolerance limit under the international cricket regulations.
Narine’s international suspension would be also be enforceable within domestic cricket and shall be recognised by all National Cricket Federations events played in their own jurisdiction.
Once bowling suspension is imposed, the player can apply for a re-assessment after modifying his bowling action in accordance.
