IBM Sequoia

As of 2014, the IBM’s Sequoia is world’s third largest supercomputer after Tianhe-2 and Titan. In 2012, it had  trumped Japan’s K Computer made by Fujitsu which fell to second place. This has been for the first time the US claim pole position since it was beaten by China in 2010. Sequoia will be used to carry out simulations to help extend the life of aging nuclear weapons, avoiding the need for real-world underground tests.
