Human Resources Development Ministry presents Vishwakarma Awards

On February 24, 2020, the Union Minster Ramesh Pokhriyal presented the Vishwakarma awards for the year 2019. Around 23 groups were awarded Chatra Vishwakarma Awards and 6 institutes were awarded with Utkrisht Santhan Vishwakarma Award.

Highlights

This year the theme of competition of the award is as follows

Theme: How to Enhance the income of a village

Around 2,372 teams submitted their solutions. There were three stages of evaluation and 117 teams were selected. The teams will exhibit their prototypes at the National Convention and Exhibition.

About Vishwakarma Awards

The awards were instituted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) since 2017. They are being awarded every year for the growth of the society. The Chhatra Vishwakarma awards are Class I awards and are presented for highly progressive staff. The Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Awards are Class II awards that are presented to excellent institutional intervention.

The All India Council for Technical Education is an advisory body that gained statutory status in 1987. It accredits graduate and post graduate programmes. The body is assisted by 10 other statutory boards such as Technical education, architecture education, vocational education, pharmaceutical education, etc
