Hive to tongue tractability project

The National Beekeeping and Honey Mission launched ‘Hive to tongue traceability project’ to formalise the honey collection and production data. This will help farmers get higher returns for their honey. It will also enable consumers know the source of the honey they purchase – the place of origin and the available flora and fauna of the region.

This initiative came in response to the increasing instances of adulteration of honey in India. The government is looking to register all beekeepers under this project so as to increase transparency in the honey production.
