About Professor Bratindra Nath Mukherjee:

- Amidst India’s rare scholars who had knowledge of central Asian languages, including Sogdian.
- Authored more than 50 books and 700 articles in national and international journals.
- Famous books: Greek and Aramaic Edicts of Ashoka, Rise of Kushan Empire and Indian Gold
- A numismatist, had written 2 volumes: Numismatic Art of India and Coins of Bengal.
- Former head of the Department of Ancient Indian History and Culture, University of Calcutta.
