Hindi and Urdu writer Reoti Saran Sharma passes away
Renowned Hindi and Urdu writer, playwright and television personality Reoti Saran Sharma passed away in New Delhi. He was 92.
He was pioneer in radio plays in All India Radio (AIR). For his contribution to theatre (dramatic literature and performance) he was conferred with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007.
About Reoti Saran Sharma
- He has written more than 150 radio plays at the AIR, some of them were translated into regional languages.
- Some plays of his plays are Deepshika, Na Dharam Na Iman, and Andehere ka Beta.
- He also had written memorable television serials like Adhikaar, Phir Wahi Talaash, Aur Bhi Gam Hain Zamane Mein, Lena-Dena and The Great Maratha.
- He was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007 and Ghalib Award.
