Himachal Pradesh: 2,000 Panchayats under Natural Farming
Around 2,209 panchayats were brought under natural farming under Prakritik Kheti Khushshal Kissan Yojana. The State is promoting Organic and Zero Budget Naturna Farming under the scheme.
Features
- Under the scheme, a target of 50,000 farmers have been set for the year 2019.
- So far 20,579 farmers have been trained. Out of this, 15,391 are already practicing natural farming in their fields.
- The State Government plans to hold a minimum of 5 training sessions per month till March 2020.
- Technology block manager and Assistance Technology manger have been recruited under Agricultural Technology management Agency to fulfill the needs of the training.
Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Scheme
The scheme was launched by the Himachal Pradesh Government to promote natural farming and to increase farmer’s income.
The main objective of the scheme is to reduce costs required for farmers, increase farmers income and to reduce use of chemicals and fertilizers in the farm.
The scheme provides 75% subsidy on drums that are required to make inputs of natural farming. It provides a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to open natural resources store in villages.
