Hemant Soren Sworn In as Jharkhand CM Again

Hemant Soren was sworn in as Gov. of Jharkhand for the third time on July 4, 2024. Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan led the event at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi, where the oaths were taken.

Following the resignation of Champai Soren, who had briefly taken over as Chief Minister while Hemant Soren was in jail, Hemant Soren was reappointed. Hemant Soren was a very important person in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He had legal problems and was caught by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31, 2024. Because he was arrested, his predecessor took over running the state until the Jharkhand High Court released Soren on bail on June 28, 2024.

Hemant Soren was born into a political family in Nemra, Ramgarh district. He first got involved in politics when his older brother Durga Soren died.
