Health Ministry launches ‘Corona Fighters’, awareness video game
An interactive first of its kind video game named ‘The Corona Fighters’ has been launched by the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. He also launched two promotional videos regarding proper COVID-19 guidelines.
Highlights
- The Union Health Minister presented Polio Abhiyaan as an instance. He urged people to take inspiration from the incident of how the people’s participation succeeded to make the Polio Abhiyaan a social mass movement.
- He also termed the video game and the promotional video as social vaccines.
The video game
The web-based video game has been designed in such a way that will influence the players in the real world to combat COVID-19 by using masks, washing hands, and eating healthy foods.
Polio Abhiyaan
Pulse Polio is an immunization program conducted by the government of India to eliminate poliomyelitis by vaccinating all children below the age of five years. Tamil Nadu was the first Indian state to become 100% polio-free through the immunization program. In 1995, the Pulse Polio immunization program was launched in the other parts of India. India was officially declared polio-free in 2014 by the World Health Organization.
