Haryana’s New Bill for Contractual Employees

The bill guarantees that contractual employees receive a basic salary aligned with regular employees in similar roles. Their salaries will increase biannually based on Dearness Allowance adjustments. After one year of service, employees will also be eligible for an annual pay raise.

Contractual workers will enjoy death-cum-retirement benefits and maternity leave. Their families will have access to health coverage through the PM-Jan Arogya Yojana-Chirayu Extension Scheme. These benefits improve the welfare of contractual employees.

To qualify for these benefits, employees must have worked for at least five years by August 15, 2024. However, those earning more than ₹50,000 monthly or working on centrally funded projects are excluded from this scheme.
