Haryana Budget 2023-24
The Chief Minister of Haryana Lal Khattar presented the state budget for the year 2023-24. No new taxes were introduced in the budget. The state government is to focus on rural welfare, healthcare, environment, and education sectors in the year 2023-24. The total funds in the budget are Rs 1.83 lakh cores. This is 11.6% higher than the previous budget
Key Highlights of Haryana Budget 2023-24
- Chirayu-Ayushman Bharat Scheme extended to families with annual income between Rs 1.8 lakhs and Rs 3 lakhs
- More buses are to be added to Haryana state transport. Currently, there are 4,500 buses. The number will be increased to 5,300
- 800 MW of thermal power plant to be established
- Private and government ambulances will be integrated
- Paddy stubbles will be bought from the farmers at Rs 1000 per tonne
- Every girl child taking training from the Industrial training institute will receive Rs 2,500
- Rs 5,408 allocated for highways and railways
- 20,000 acres of land allocated for natural farming
- Anganwadis to be converted into play schools;s
- Cycling Velodrome to be established in Kurukshetra district
- A water sports centre is to be established in Karnal
