Gujarat: Utkarsh Samaroh Event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually addressed the ‘Utkarsh Samaroh’ event that was held at Bharuch, Gujarat on 12^th May 2022. This programme was organized to celebrate the 100 per cent saturation of four key state government schemes in this district. While interacting with the people of this district PM Modi talked about the Utkarsh Initiative.

What is the Utkarsh Initiative?

The Bharuch district administration carried out this initiative from 1^st January to 31^st March 2022 with the aim of providing the citizens of this district a complete coverage of the four-state government schemes for the elderly, widows, and impoverished citizens.

How many beneficiaries were identified?

Under the four schemes, a total of 12,854 beneficiaries were identified.

What are the four schemes?

The four schemes are:

Indira Gandhi Vrudh Sahay Yojana
Ganga Swaroopa Aarthik Sahay Yojana
Rashtriy Kutumb Sahay Yojana
Niradhar Vrudh Aarthik Sahay Yojana

The district administration had set up a taluka-wise WhatsApp helpline so as to collect data about all those people of this district who couldn’t avail of the four-state government schemes.

Why were Utkarsh camps organized?

In the Bharuch district, Utkarsh camps were set up wherein any applicants producing necessary documents were provided with instant approvals under the four schemes.

What is Gujarat Ganga Swaroopa Aarthik Sahay Yojana?

This scheme was launched to help the women of the state who have lost their husbands. The women are being helped financially under this scheme so that they can take care of their families.

What is Indira Gandhi Vrudh Sahay Yojana?

This scheme was launched to help all those beneficiaries who are aged 60 years and above and belong to the Below Poverty Line category.

What is Niradhar Vrudh Aarthik Sahay Yojana?

This scheme was launched to help the destitute persons with disabilities as well as the destitute old people of the state to lead dignified life by providing them with financial help.
