Green Good Deeds initiative to Promote Environmental Awareness
The Minister of State for Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Babul Supriyo on Monday, 9th December 2019 in a written reply to Rajya Sabha informed that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change coordinates a Central Sector Scheme namely ‘Environment Education, Awareness and Training’.
The Scheme promotes environmental awareness and to mobilize people’s participation for environment conservation among all the sections of the society in the country.
National Green Corps Program is a component of the scheme under which around one lakh fifty thousand eco clubs have been established in various schools, colleges and universities across the country. More than 35 lakh students have actively participated in the program.
The Green Good Deeds initiative will be about practical and simple steps that a citizen of the country can perform in their day-to-day life for the protection and conservation of the environment.
