Govt says NEET like single national entrance test for engineering colleges is under consideration

Union Ministry of Human Resource Development is considering conducting a single national level test for entrance to engineering colleges similar to that of NEET examination for entrance into Medical colleges. The ministry is holding an advanced level consultation to make the JEE exam as a single national level entrance exam. The move is proposed to be taken to curb irregularities and increase transparency in admission process. The proposed test may come into effect from 2018 onwards. The common test scores is planned to be used in the admission process for various government and private engineering colleges throughout the country.
