Goa to Use Whatsapp to Communicate COVID 19 Test Results
Goa Health Minister Vihwajit Rane has stated that the state is mulling the use of the social media platform Whatsapp for communicating the results of the COVID 19 testing in the state. The development comes on the back of the delay in getting results for the deadly virus infection in the state. The state government wants to streamline the entire process as soon as possible.
The State Government has got in touch with Goa Electronics, a public sector enterprise, to include the social media platform Whatsapp for quick intimation of the COVID 19 test results in the state. A note to this effect will be moved to the Health Secretary of the State also at the earliest.
As of now, it takes around three-four days in the state to communicate the results to the patients and affected persons. Though there is a promise that the reports will be available within 24 hours, it is actually taking at least 3-4 days and mainly the tourists are getting affected. The reason for the delay has been attributed to the fact that the number of cases in the state is rising and also more tests are being conducted now in the state.
As per the guidelines issued by the State Government, now every tourist entering the state has to carry a negative COVID 19 certificate or get tested at the border of the state. These tourists will then have to quarantine themselves in hotels until the test results are declared for them. This is creating an issue for the tourists.
