The government of India has appointed a Judicial Committee to look into the implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme for the ex-Servicemen. The committee will headed by the Justice (Retd) L. Narasimha Reddy, former Chief Justice of Patna High Court. The Committee, with headquarters in Delhi, has been given a 6-month deadline for submission of its recommendations. The Terms of Reference for the committee is to examine and make recommendations on the removal of anomalies that may arise in the implementation of the OROP as notified by the Government on November 7, 2015.

Operation Smile-II is a nation-wide campaign to rescue and rehabilitate the missing children. It will start from January 1, 2016 and will end on January 31, 2016. During this one month operation, all children residing in shelter homes, platforms, bus stands, roads, religious places, etc. are to be screened by trained police personnel. The particulars of such identified children will be uploaded on the ‘Missing child’ portal of the Ministry of Women and Child Development by the respective State Police. Rehabilitation measures whenever needed are to be taken up in coordination with the other line Departments like Department of Women & Child Development, Police, Labour, etc, so that scope of re-victimization is eliminated.

The Union HRD Ministry has launched ‘e-pathshala’ web portal to host educational resources for students, teachers, parents, researchers and educators. It is a single point repository of e- resources containing NCERT text-books and various other learning resources. Beside e-pathshala, Saaransh and National Programme on School Standards and Evaluation Framework (Shala Siddhi) web portals/mobile apps were also launched by the Union HRD Ministry. The Saransh portal will help the schools to identify areas of improvement in students, teachers and curriculum to facilitate and implement change. The Shala Siddhi web-portal will help all schools to assess themselves and the results can be seen by all enabling them to provide feedback.
