GISAT

GISAT is Geo-Information Satellite. The satellite is to do a full rotation of the earth and come to the same point every 2 hours. The satellite is capable of performing rapid surveillance and fast imaging. The ISRO has designed the satellite in such a way that if needed the satellite can observe a point for a longer duration.

This is the first satellite to be launched by ISRO in 2020. Following GISAT, 10 more satellites are to be launched to boost space surveillance power of the country. The satellites will also help in strengthening border security and control terrorist infiltration.
