Q. 11: Information in the public domain shows that the highest peak in India is considered to be K2, Is that wrong or there is some falw in my undersatnding of the said question; Kindly clarify?
Thanks for your comments. My question was basically asking the peak which is entirely within the territories of India excluding POK. Of course Kancenjunga is the highest peak, but being Kangchenjunga on the border of India and Nepal, I maintain Nanda devi as a correct answer. To avoid any confusion, let me maintain that
1. The Highest peak in India is Kanchenjunga.
2. The Highest peak entirely in Indian territory, exluding POK is Nanda Devi.
3. The Highest peak in India (Including the area which we claim but has been occupied by Pakistan as POK) : K2
But still if we are not specifically asked and the question says The highest peak in India is………i think the best one wud be to pik K2. hope i am fyn sir…..
