Frank D Gilroy, Pulitzer prize-winning playwright passes away

Renowned American playwright, screenwriter and film producer and director Frank D Gilroy passed away in Monroe, New York. He was 89.
In 1965, he has won prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play The Subject Was Roses.
He had written screenplay for a 1968 film adaptation starring Albertson and Patricia Neal which was earned both actors Oscar nominations, resulting in a win for Albertson.
Gilroy also had directed movies for television and the big screen including the 1971 Desperate Characters. He also had received the Tony Award for Best Play for The Subject Was Roses in 1965.
Gilroy was born on October 13, 1925 in New York City, United States. He had served in the army from 1943 to 1946.
