Five govt schemes for MSME in handloom and handicraft center

Comprehensive handloom cluster development scheme is an initiative to develop mega handloom clusters in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Each cluster is to have at least 15,000 looms. The center provides funding for technological upgradation, product development, etc.

SNEHH or scheme for northeast handlooms and handicrafts is a scheme by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. It provides a term loan assistance of up to 75% of the project costs in north eastern region.

Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojana is a scheme for organizing artisans into self help groups for promotion of handicrafts industry. It was introduced in 2001-02 under the Ministry of Textiles.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana is a 2015 scheme for providing loans to non-corporate, non-agricultural MSMEs. The loans under the scheme are called MUDRA loans. Handicraft and handloom MSMEs are eligible for this loan.

Tanti Sathi is an initiative of the West Bengal government to provide pit looms and other equipment necessary for handloom and khadi weavers in the state. The scheme was started to revive the famous Bengal muslin manufacturing.
