First Global Buddhist Congregation begins in Delhi

 

  • Around 900 eminent scholars, leaders and activists gathered for the first ever four-day Global Buddhist Congregation in India being held to commemorate the 2,600th year of Sambodhiprapti (the enlightenment of Buddha).
  • This four-day Congregation has brought together Buddhist leaders, practitioners and scholars from all over the world to the land of Buddha dhamma.
  • This is the first time that the supreme leaders of all Buddhist religious leaders belonging to all Buddhist traditions are participating in the Congregation to be held till November 30, 2911. The Global Buddhist Congregation will focus on how the teachings of Buddha surpass the ordinary realms of conventional religion, to include topics such as metaphysics, philosophy and the physical sciences.
