First ever News Magazine Programme in Sanskrit
The All India Radio is to broadcast the first ever “News Magazine” programme in Sanskrit. The programme has been titled “Sanskrit Saptahiki”.
Highlights
The news programme is to be aired every Saturday for a duration of 20 minutes. Also, the programme is to be re-telecasted on Sunday. The programme will broadcast developments of the week.
Significance
The programme will enshrine Sanskrit literature, history, philosophy, culture, art and tradition. Also, it will give voice to youth and children and help them learn Indian traditions and culture.
Components of the programme
The main components of the programme include Gyan Vigyan, Ek-Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat, Sanskrit Darshan, Saptahiki, Prasang, Sukti and Anvikshiki.
The Sukti programme will quote a Shloka from Sanskrit literature and will also explain its meaning. Under the Gyan Vigyan programme, an interview with the language expert will be held. The Anvikshiki segment will provide an insight about a major historical event.
The Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat programme will list 5 commonly used words of Sanskrit and it will be translated to Hindi.
