Xinjiang as a Venue for Joint Military Exercises

Xinjiang has been a preferred venue for joint military exercises in the past. In 2016, the region served as the venue for collaborative military training that included the infantry units of China and other member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) bloc. The exercise focused on boosting combat capabilities, promoting military communication, and enhancing readiness to handle security threats effectively.

UAE’s Involvement and Defense Arsenal

The UAE’s Air Force primarily relies on Western fighter jets, including F-16s and Mirage-2000. In 2011, China completed the sale of at least five Wing Loong I drones to the UAE, and later, Abu Dhabi became the inaugural export customer for the Wing Loong II drones in 2017.
