Facts Box: Atma Nirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge
PM Modi recently launched the Atma Nirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge. The challenge was launched in partnership with NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission. The challenge is an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Highlights
The challenge was launched to explore vibrant startup and technology ecosystem of India to create world class “Made in India” applications. Under the challenge, innovators all over India were invited to develop applications in eight categories.
About the Challenge
The eight categories under which the applications are to be developed are Entertainment, social networking, E-Learning, Health and Wellness, News, Games, business including Agri Tech and Fin Tech, work from home and office productivity.
Significance
The launch of the challenge can be seen in the light of ban imposed by India on 59 Chinese Applications. This included the famous UC Browser and Tik Tok. The application will help in Digitalizing India and also making India self sufficient.
