Exhibition ‘India Heritage in Digital Space’ inaugurated

A month-long special exhibition organized in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi titled ‘Indian Heritage in digital Space’ was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel in New Delhi on Wednesday, 15th January 2020, which will remain open for public till the 15th February 2020. The Minister also inaugurated the first international heritage symposium, which is a two-day event in New Delhi organized from the 15thto 16th January 2020. The month-long exhibition is a first of its kind in India in which the latest interventions from the cultural heritage domain are showcased with the technologies that are developed under the Department of Science and Technology’s initiative of India Digital Heritage (IDH).

The Minister addressed the inauguration ceremony and said that the exhibition will recreate the socio-cultural life of several important architectural structures and stated that in technology, the use of heritage is a good initiative, but it should be restricted for research work only.
