“Ex-Surya Kiran Drills VI”- Joint military exercise of India and Nepal underway at Sailahandi
The armies of India and Nepal are jointly conducting the military exercise, known as Ex-Surya Kiran Drills VI, at Saljhandi in Rupandehi district, Nepal.
About Indo-Nepal joint military exercise- “Ex-Surya Kiran Drills VI”
- In the two-week long exercise, both the armies will work to upgrade their practical and principle aspects of jungle warfare, anti-insurgency operations and rescue operations.
- Objective: To train troops in counter terrorism operations and to enhance defense cooperation and military relations between the two nations.
- The exercise also includes a detailed training in organization and conduct of disaster response, management and rescue operation. The two sides will also share experiences on counter-terrorist operations.
Note: The last Indo-Nepal Joint Military “Surya Kiran-V” was conducted at Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand in 2013.
