EPFO Face authentication scheme for pensioners
Recently, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), inaugurated the “Face Authentication Scheme for Pensioners”. The scheme will allow more than 73 lakh pensioners to submit digital life certificate, by using the face authentication technology from anywhere.
More about EPFO’s Face authentication scheme:
- Under the scheme, face recognition authentication will help the aged pensioners, for whom it gets difficult to get their bio-metrics (Fingerprint & Iris scan) to file the life certificate.
- This technology was launched by Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav. Bhupender Yadav also chairs the apex decision making body of EPFO- the Central Board of Trustees.
- Before the launch of face authentication scheme, the CBT have in-principal approval for centralized disbursal of pension, during its 231st meeting. This approval was given to improve EPFO services for pensioners, further.
Pension and employees deposit linked insurance scheme calculator:
On the occasion, union minister also launched the “Pension and Employees deposit linked insurance scheme calculator”. As a part of this, an online facility will be provided to pensioner and family members. This online facility will help in calculating the benefits of Pension and Death Linked Insurance Benefit.
Training Policy of EPFO:
Union Minister also unveiled training policy of EPFO, which aims to turn the officers and staff of EPFO into a competent, future-ready & responsive cadre, with the objective of fulfilling the vision and mission of EPFO as a world class social security provider. As a part of training policy, 14,000 personnel will be trained for 8 days, on annual basis. Total budget of the training would be 3% of the salary budget.
