Eastern Rajasthan Canal project

Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project or ERCP is a drinking water and irrigation project in Rajasthan that seeks to use the surplus water from the rivers in the southern parts of the state. It aims to use the surplus water during the rainy season from River Chambal and its tributaries to address the drinking water and irrigation needs of 13 districts in eastern Rajasthan. Though the project was approved in 2017, very little progress has been made due to high costs. Rajasthan has been demanding national tag for the ERCP.
