Dr. Naima Khatoon becomes First woman Vice Chancellor of AMU

Dr. Naima Khatoon recently made history by becoming the first woman Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in over 100 years. Her appointment was approved by President Droupadi Murmu and the Election Commission of India, with a term of five years.

Dr. Khatoon, who holds a PhD in psychology from AMU, has a long history with the university, having served as a lecturer, professor, and principal of the Women’s College. In addition to her academic achievements, Khatoon has also worked as a lecturer at the National University of Rwanda and held various administrative positions at AMU.

She holds a PhD in Political Psychology and has presented her research at international conferences. Khatoon is also a published author in areas such as clinical, health, applied social, and spiritual psychology.

Her accolades include receiving the Papa Mian Padma Bhushan Best Girl Award for her outstanding performance. As the new Vice Chancellor of AMU, Khatoon is expected to bring her expertise and experience to the prestigious institution.
