Demoiselle crane

Demoiselle crane is a species of crane found in the Eurasian region stretching from the Black Sea in the west to Mongolia in the east. They are migratory in nature and spend the winters in Africa and Indian subcontinent. Recently, a tagged bird, named crane A-5, covered more than 4,300 km to reach Rajasthan from Russia. These cranes are tagged under the ‘1000 Cranes’ international project and this is the longest recorded travel by these tagged birds.
