Delhi govt launches ‘Business Blasters’ Programme
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, launched the ‘Business Blasters’ programme on September 7, 2021.
Key Facts
- This programme was launched with the aim of developing young entrepreneurs at school-level by providing students some seed money in order to start a business.
- It will be implemented across all the Delhi government schools under the “Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC)”.
- Under the programme, class 11 and 12 students will be provided seed money of Rs 2,000 to start their business.
- The programme was started at the School of Excellence Khichripur under a pilot project. 9 groups of 41 students were formed in this and they were provided the seed money of Rs 1,000. They made huge profits in it.
Significance of the programme
Business Blasters programme will become a basis of India’s progress. Thorough this programme, students will not run after jobs, but jobs will come to them. If this programme is implemented properly, it can take India from being a developing country to a developed one. It will also help in addressing the problem of unemployment.
Drawback of Indian education system
Biggest drawback of the Indian education system was that students were being provided education but an entrepreneurial mindset was not being inculcated. This initiative would help in changing the mindset.
EMC Carnival
Delhi government will organise EMC carnival with 100 top projects from Business Blasters projects at zonal and district level. Projects will be rated by renowned successful entrepreneurs and universities. After this, students included in the top 10 projects will directly be admitted to BBA courses in Delhi Technological University and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology.
