Deepika Kumari equals world record in recurve event at Archery World Cup

India’s Deepika Kumari has equalled the world record in Women’s Recurve event at the qualifying stage of Archery World Cup held in Shanghai, China.
Deepika recorded a score of 686 out of 720 to finish 1st in qualifiers and equal the world.
With this she equalled the record set by South Korea’s Ki Boe Bae at the World University Games in Gwangju in 2015.
Deepika has already qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics scheduled to be held in August 2016 with her performance at the Copenhagen World Championships in 2015.
In the previous editions of the World Cup, Deepika had won silver medals consecutively in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in the women’s individual events.
