Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change recently approved the New Coastal Zone Management Plan for Karnataka.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for various works worth Rs 3,800 crore at Goldfinch city in Karnataka. Karnataka is the first State in southern India and only the second state in the country to get the Plan prepared and approved as per the new Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification.

Notes:
India’s external debt rose by 8.2 per cent year-on-year to USD 620.7 billion as of March 2022, as per the Union Finance Ministry’s ‘Status Report on India’s External Debt 2021-22’.
While 53.2 per cent of the debt was denominated in the US dollar, Indian rupee-denominated debt was the second largest, which was estimated at 31.2 per cent. External debt as a ratio to GDP was 19.9 per cent, while reserves to external debt ratio were 97.8 per cent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina jointly unveiled Unit-I of the Maitree Super Thermal Power Project.
The project is being constructed under India’s concessional financing scheme. It will add 1320 MW to Bangladesh’s National Grid. Seven agreements, including on water resources, railways, science and technology, space technology were exchanged between the Prime Ministers.

The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved the country’s first intra-nasal Covid-19 vaccine for restricted emergency use in those aged above 18 years.
The vaccine named ‘iNCOVACC’ was developed by Bharat Biotech and it is the only the second such vaccine in the world after CanSino Biologics’ vaccine in China, to get regulatory approval. iNCOVACC is a chimpanzee adenovirus vectored recombinant nasal vaccine that has been formulated to allow delivery through nasal drops.

India’s National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the UK Government in collaboration with BAE Systems successfully conducted the Cyber Security Exercise for 26 Countries.
The exercise has been conducted as part of the International Counter Ransom ware Initiative- Resilience Working Group, which is being led by India under the leadership of National Cyber Security Coordinator (NCSC).
