The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) launched the Climate and Health Solutions (CHS) India Conclave in Delhi. The conclave aims to build a climate-resilient health system. India is integrating climate factors into health policies and emergency responses, setting an example for developing nations.

At least 46 people, including 37 children, drowned during the Jivitputrika festival in Bihar while taking a holy dip.
Jivitputrika, or Jitiya Vrat, is a Hindu festival mainly observed in northern and eastern part of India especially in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Nepal. Mothers fast for three days for the well-being and long life of their children, with a strict ‘nirjala’ fast on the second day. The festival is linked to the mythological story of King Jimutavahana. It starts with a purifying bath (Nahai-Khai) and ends with breaking the fast (Paaran).

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope shared a video of the spiral galaxy Caldwell 45 (NGC 5248). Spiral galaxies are collections of stars and gas, featuring spiral arms extending from their center. These galaxies contain young, hot stars and are known for their beautiful shapes. Around 60% of discovered galaxies are spiral, including the Milky Way. Spiral galaxies have a central bulge surrounded by a flat, rotating disk of stars. They are distinct from elliptical and irregular galaxies.

India ranks 4th in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Science & Technology Cluster Ranking. Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai are in the World’s Top 100 S&T clusters. India is 7th globally in intangible asset intensity, up from 81st in 2015. GII evaluates global innovation trends, with Switzerland, Sweden, the US, Singapore, and the UK leading innovation globally.

The World Telecom Standardization Assembly (WTSA2024) will take place in India from 14th-24th October 2024, marking a historic first for the country in the ITU’s 150-year history. This significant event will gather telecom leaders and experts from over 190 nations, focusing on the critical role of telecom standards in enhancing global connectivity and innovation. Outreach sessions in major Indian cities aim to engage students and foster knowledge exchange about future technologies like 5G and 6G.
