Notes:
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently issued notification that extended the date of implementation of Toys (Quality Control) Order, 2020 to January 1, 2021.
Earlier, the date of implementation for the compliance of standards was September 1, 2020. The decision has been taken to ease the difficulties faced by domestic manufacturers in aligning with the standards.

Notes:
The state government of Gujarat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Small Industries Development Bank (SIDBI).
Under this deal, the state aims to increase self-reliance and provide capacity building and market support to the 35 lakh Micro-small-medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the state. Earlier, Rajasthan had partnered with SIDBI to develop MSME ecosystem.

Notes:
World Ozone Day or ‘International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer’ is observed on September 16 all over the world.
Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer was adopted and signed by 28 countries, on 22 March 1985. The theme of this year is ‘Ozone for Life’. This year also marks the 35th year of the Vienna Convention and 35 years of global ozone layer protection.

Notes:
The 10th Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) Group Meeting between India and the United States.
This meeting was held as a part of the Indo-US Bilateral Defence Cooperation. DTTI Group Meetings are held twice a year, hosted alternatively by India and the United States. During the virtual meet held this year, a Statement of Intent on Defence technology cooperation was also signed.

Notes:
The Rajya Sabha has recently passed the Aircraft (Amendment) Bill 2020, which was tabled by Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri
The bill has already been cleared by the Lok Sabha in March this year. It seeks to convert aviation agencies like the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Civil aviation security (BCAS) and Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) into statutory bodies. It also proposes heavy punishment for violations.
