Notes:
Seven states – including Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and Union territories of Chandigarh, Lakshadweep and Puducherry are marking their anniversaries on November 1.
Chhattisgarh, which was carved out of Madhya Pradesh, hosted a National Tribal Dance festival to celebrate its 22nd state anniversary.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’ programme at Mangarh Dham in Rajasthan.
He paid homage to the sacrifices of unsung tribal heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle. Mangarh is considered as a shared heritage of the people of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. On 15th November, the country is going to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda.

Notes:
The Indian Government has decided to grant Indian citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians coming from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan and currently living in two districts of Gujarat under the Citizenship Act, 1955.
The move to grant citizenship comes under the Citizenship Act, 1955 and not the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA).

Notes:
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal had a virtual meeting with his Australian counterpart.
The Meeting was held to discuss the status of ratification of IndAus ECTA (India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement), which was signed in April 2022. The pact’s early implementation was also deliberated upon.

Notes:
‘Operation Vigilant Storm’ is a Defence exercise conducted between USA and Republic of Korea (South Korea).
The four-day training exercise involves hundreds of aircraft and designed to enhance combat readiness and interoperability. The exercise has sparked opposition from North Korea’s Foreign Ministry.
