As per the Brazil Government’s annual report, Deforestation in Amazon rainforest has increased by 22 per cent in a year, which is the highest level since 2006.
The National Institute for Space Research’s ‘PRODES’ monitoring system showed that Amazon lost 13,235 square kilometers of rainforest during the 12-month period. Brazil’s government announced a two-year deadline to halt illegal deforestation by 2028 during the UN Climate Summit in Glasgow.

The Sixth Edition of Indo-France joint military exercise “Ex-SHAKTI 2021” has commenced at the Military School of Draguignan, France.
The training includes mutual understanding of conduct of operations, and identification of coordination aspects required for jointly operating in a Counter-Terrorism environment. They also visited Mazargues War Cemetery, where 1002 Indian soldiers of the I World War were cremated.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) holds the Manama Dialogue, at Manama, Bahrain. The 2021 summit took place between 19–21 November.
The IISS Manama Dialogue is a unique forum for government ministers, experts and business communities, to discuss the Middle East’s important security challenges. Since 2002 the Institute has hosted the annual IISS Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. The IISS publishes ‘The Military Balance’, an annual assessment of nations’ military capabilities.

Venezuela’s National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras – called as “El Sistema”, has set a new Guinness record for the world’s largest orchestra.
As many as 8,573 musicians played La Marche Slave by Pyotr Tchaikovsky for more than five minutes. The previous record was for an orchestra of 8,097 musicians who played together in St. Petersburg, Russia.

World Television Day is celebrated across the world on November 21 to mark the impact of television in the contemporary world.
The UN General Assembly decided November 21 to be marked as World Television Day since the first World Television Forum was held on November 21-22 in 1996. The UN also highlights the impact of the Television on decision making and bringing awareness to major issues.
